waterjet cutting

The early arrival of spring seems to have energized business in our market areas. Consumers are out buying ceramic products and water jet cutting projects are unway in many different areas. The automotive and military sectors are also starting to show signs of life, which means that our water jet cutting is in demand.

Over the past few months we have changed some members of our management team and the results are quite positive. Increases in productivity abound and new projects are coming on line.

Give us a call or drop us a mail and it will be our pleasure to analyse your water jet cutting projects and to show you how Talea can reduce your costs and improve your lead times.

Talea is able to work with you through the prototype stage, small runs, custom projects as well as full production runs. Our history of working with small and large firms in such varied domaines as the automotive industry, the military complexe, transport, recreational and general manufacturing enables us to work closely with you for your specific projects.

Talea Inc is able to work with rubber, kevlar, plastic, granite, steel, UHMW and many other materials. Water jet cutting offers precision cuts, without heat transfer.

Waterjet cutting does not generate any heat, therefore materials are not distorted. The waterjet cutting process is extremely effective for very soft materials such as brass, copper, rubber and very thin parts. It is also able to through stainless steel 6" (15cm) thick.

Waterjet cutting is a process capable of slicing into metal, ceramic, kevlar, granite or other materials using a jet of water at extremely high velocity and pressure. The process is essentially the same as water erosion found in nature but greatly accelerated and concentrated. Waterjet cutting is often used during the fabrication or manufacturing of parts for machinery and other devices. It has found applications in a diverse number of industries from mining and ceramics to transport and aerospace.

Our engineering and customer service team is ready to work with you for all of your waterjet cutting projects.

Talea's quick lead times and warehousing capabilities are well appreciated by it's customer base.

Green Technology

Water jet cutting is considered a "green" technology. Water jet cutting produces no hazardous waste, reducing waste disposal costs. They can cut off large pieces of reusable scrap material that might have been lost using traditional cutting methods. Water jet cutting uses very little water (2L to 4L approximately per minute depending on cutting head orifice size), and the water that is used can be recycled using a closed-looped system. Waste water usually is clean enough to filter and dispose of down a drain. The garnet abrasive is a non-toxic natural substance that can be recycled for repeated use.

Water jet cutting also eliminates airborne dust particles, smoke, fumes, and contaminates from cutting materials such as asbestos and fiberglass. This greatly improves the work environment and reduces problems arising from operator exposure.
